Marketing Gloucester and Gloucester City Council commissioned us to review the City's Destination Management Organisation and provide recommendations for its future role.

After a turbulent time, the organisation had reached a turning point and needed an in depth look at its strategic purpose, operations and its fit within the stakeholder landscape. We conducted a desk review of key documents, mapped out the stakeholder landscape and designed and delivered a consultation exercise with the organisation's staff, board and partners. A business survey was circulated to evaluate the effectiveness of Marketing Gloucester from their perspective.

The result was a set of findings and recommendations for a way forward that was presented to the Marketing Gloucester Board.

The context for the review was complex, high profile and politically delicate with a large number of stakeholders holding strong and conflicting views. It also needed to be undertaken in a very tight timescale. Melanie and Jason delivered a comprehensive and thoughtful assessment of MGL including its vision, purpose, business plan, resources and capabilities as well as its relationships with stakeholders in the City including the City Council. Stakeholders and partners felt engaged and able to contribute to the review.

Melanie and Jason brought significant expertise and experience as well as great relational skills. They were incredibly responsive and great to work with and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Anne Brinkhoff, Corporate Director, Gloucester City Council.
